Waking Life Espresso Menu

Espresso _____________________________________________________________________

Finely ground coffee brewed under pressure resulting in a syrupy ounce with a round mouthfeel. Crowned by a halo of golden crema. One shot of espresso is equal in caffeine content to four ounces of drip coffee.

1 oz  $0.75 / 2 oz  $1.50

Macchiato ___________________________________________________________________

The Italian term for "marked" - espresso capped with a pour of expertly prepared milk froth. Enough milk to soften even the most intense espresso. Our macchiato is similar to a piccolo latte.

3 oz  $2.00

Cappuccino __________________________________________________________________

By World Barista Championship definition, "a cappuccino is a beverage of ratios, producing a harmonious balance of one single shot of espresso, steamed milk and frothed milk." Creamy, velvety, simple.

6 oz  $2.50

Latte  _______________________________________________________________________

Textured milk lovingly folded into two robust shots of espresso. A classic marriage of quantity and quality. The less-frothy big brother of the cappuccino. Also available iced.

12 oz  $3.25

Americano ___________________________________________________________________

Originally a derisive term for watered-down espresso coined by Italian baristas during the Second World War, this is now a standard espresso beverage. Near-boiling water topped by espresso to produce a beverage with the body of drip coffee.

6 oz  $1.00 / 12 oz  $2.00

Brewed Coffee ________________________________________________________________

Our brewed coffee can be prepared by Chemex, pourover, Clever dripper, french press, and Fetco Extractor airpot, with the latter only being available 7am-11am. Check our coffee list for current varietals.

30 oz Chemex  $4.00

24 oz French Press  $3.50

12 oz Pourover  $1.75

Airpot  $1.50

Tea _________________________________________________________________________

Fantastic loose leaf tea from Art of Tea. Ask for our current selections, but we always carry a green, a black, and an herbal, as well as Yerba Maté.

Iced Menu

Raw Latte____________________________________________________________________

Vanilla bean infused raw sugar, organic milk, and espresso. Seductively sweet with an incredibly rich and nuanced texture. Available on the rocks or blended.

16 oz $4.00

Iced Coffee __________________________________________________________________

Cold-brewed toddy coffee on the rocks. Smooth and even, like a great unsweetened tea.

16 oz $2.25

Ethiopian Car Bomb___________________________________________________________

Our iced cold-brew coffee on the rocks with a double shot of espresso. Definitely on the “caffeine delivery mechanism” side of the coffee spectrum, but tasty nonetheless.

16 oz $3.25

Blended Mocha_______________________________________________________________

Espresso, Dominican semi-sweet organic chocolate, cold milk and ice combine to form our balanced variation on this classic favorite. Just sweet enough to do the trick without inducing a diabetic coma.

16 oz $4.00
